These 1966 pictures are from a photo essay for my high school journalism class. As that geeky kid who was always hanging around with his camera, I must have been nearly invisible while shooting these pictures. That “guaranteed-to-bleed” madras plaid appears in so many of them. It was insanely popular back then. Cue music of the Lovin’ Spoonful and the Beach Boys!
